2. What is die casting, really?

Think of a waffle iron, but for metal.

We pour liquid aluminium (or zinc, or magnesium) into a reusable steel mould, squeeze it under high pressure for a few seconds, open the mould and pop-a finished part drops out. No carving, no chips, almost no waste.
